Khandu allocates portfolios to Ministers

ITANAGAR, June 2 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday allocated portfolios to his newly sworn-in Cabinet Ministers, keeping with him key departments like Hydropower, PWD, General Administration and other departments not assigned to any Minister.

Khandu had taken oath on May 29 last as the Chief Minister of the State for the second time in a row along with his Cabinet. Five members of his Council of Ministers are new faces with two of them being first-timers.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein retained the crucial Finance and Investment portfolio, besides being tasked with the Power and Non-Conventional Energy Resources (NCER) departments.

Bamang Felix has been vested with Home and Inter- State Border Affairs departments along with Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, and Parliamentary Affairs.

Wangki Lowang received Public Health Engineering and Water Supply, and the Department of Tirap, Changlang and Longding (DoTCL), while Honchun Ngandam was given the Rural Works Department.

Kamlung Mosang has been given the charges of Urban Development, Municipal Administration & Government Estates, and Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs.

Minister Alo Libang has once again been assigned the Health & Family Welfare portfolio along with additional charge of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, and Social Justice, Empowerment & Tribal Affairs departments.

Former Deputy Speaker Tumke Bagra, who got Ministerial berth for the first time, has been given Industries, Skill Development, Textile & Handicrafts, and Trade & Commerce.

Mama Natung is the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, and Water Resources, while Tage Taki has been given Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary & Dairy Development, and Fisheries.

First-timer and technocrat-turned politician Taba Tedir has been allocated Education, Cultural Affairs, and Dept of Indigenous Affairs, while another first-timer, Nakap Nalo got Tourism, Transport and Civil Aviation.
