Kaziranga Utsav postponed

BOKAKHAT, March 7 - The Kaziranga Utsav, which was suppose to commence from March 12 to 15 at Kohora of Kaziranga National Park, has been postponed due to the prevailing situation created by the outbreak of coronavirus.

The SDO (C) of Bokakhat Vivek Shyam addressing a press meet here today revealed that though 80 per cent preparation of the festival has been completed, the organizing committee has decided to postpone the event considering the threat to health of people in view of the outbreak of the virus. He also said that the administration is maintaining strict vigil with two groups of doctors as per the order and guidelines of Health Department, Govt of India.

The tourist lodges where foreign and domestic tourists had stayed are being inspected regularly and, if necessary, health check-up of the staff of these lodges are also being carried out. Besides, all efforts have been made to create awareness on maintaining cleanliness among students and people according to the guidelines of Unicef.
