MANGALDAI, Oct 2 - Bringing a ray of hope for a large number of unemployed youths of Darrang district, the District Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra, located at Upahupara here organised a �Kaushal Mela and Job Mela� on Friday last.
Member of Parliament, Mangaldai Dilip Saikia ceremonially inaugurated the function by lighting a lamp. Several other distinguished guests, including Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Dass, Chief Executive Officer, Darrang Zila Parishad, Tez Prasad Bhushal, president of the Zila Parishad Dhiren Deka, Sibson Teron, manager, District PM Kaushal Kendra, Darrang and Popy Kalita of the placement service agency attended the function.
The guests, in their addresses, underlined the benefits of importance of skill training and habits of �swachhata� for a successful and healthy life. The function also witnessed ceremonial distribution of certificates to the successful trainees of different ongoing trades namely, �Sewing machine operator�, �Retail sales associates� and �Food and beverage�. The certificate distribution function was followed by campus interviews of successful trainees by different companies for placements.
