SILCHAR, Oct 4: Ahead of the festive season, tense situation prevailed in Katigorah constituency of Cachar district on Thursday morning after locals spotted severed pieces of animal meat being thrown into the Gumrah River.
According to sources, the incident occurred at a remote place near Kalaincherra Tea Garden under the constituency. Meanwhile, the incident resulted into factional chaos, sources added.
Additional SP (Headquarters) Rakesh Reddy informed that force has been deployed in the area and situation is under control. However, investigation into the incident is in progress, he added.
