TINSUKIA, Nov 11 � Kathin Chibar Dan, one of the most important festivals for the followers of Lord Gautam Buddha, was celebrated at Tinsukia Bauddha Bihar, College Road here with a day-long programmes today.
The festival of donations of food and other necessary materials like attires, etc., to the priests by the followers is considered to be most pious and holy action. The day-long celebration, which was attended by hundreds of people coming from various places of Tinsukia and Dibrugarh district, included programmes like hoisting of Biswa Buddha Flag, foundation of Kalpataru, Buddha Puja, acceptance of Panchasheel and Sanghadaan, Pinda daan by Bhikkhu Sangha, community feast, awards distribution to meritorious students, Dharma Sabha, etc.
