Karimganj to get 3 new block offices

NILAMBAZAR, Nov 27 - The State Government is going to set up three new block offices in Karimganj district for smooth functioning and proper implementation of developmental works. The district administration had sent a proposal seeking three new developmental blocks at Nilambazar, Bazarghat and Karnamadhu.

The decision in this regard was taken at a meeting held at the DC�s conference hall recently. Besides three new blocks, two offices will be established under South Karimganj Assembly constituency and another office at North Karimganj constituency. This is of course a long-pending demand of the people of Karimganj for block offices in order to bring in development in the areas. Due to non-availability of block offices, people had to suffer a lot of hardships.

South Karimganj MLA Aziz Ahmed Khan had also raised the issue for setting up of block offices on the floor of the Assembly. Ultimately, the district� administration has resolved to delimit/ reorganize all the seven development blocks of Karimganj and create� three new blocks in the district.

The district administration has informed that all earlier orders and Gazette notification published in February, 2016 regarding reorganization of development blocks has been nullified by the government. In this connection, a meeting was organised which was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Karimganj, MLAs Krishnendu Paul, Bijoy Malakar, Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha, Aziz Ahmed Khan, president Kaliganj Block Suraksha Sangram Samiti Bivash Bardhan, president of Nilambazar Block demand Committee Nilothpol Das, DDC Ranjit Kumar Laskar, and CEO Karimganj Zila parishad Amalendu Roy.
