GUWAHATI, July 26 - As India marked the 16th anniversary of the Kargil Victory Day (Kargil Vijay Diwas) today, special functions were organised at various locations by the Indian Army to pay tribute and homage to the Kargil War heroes in Assam along with rest of the country.
The Red Horns Division of the Indian Army responsible for counter-insurgency operations in Lower Assam celebrated the function at its headquarters based at Rangiya by hoisting the national flag. The flag hoisting was followed by singing of the national anthem, unveiling of inauguration stone and release of the tricolour balloons.
