GUWAHATI, Dec 3 � Assam won five medals, including two gold, in the All India Kuniba Kai Karate Do Championship held at the Talkutara Indoor Stadium, New Delhi recently.
Pankaj Boro (one gold), Nijum Basumatary (one gold and a bronze), Sashi Mohan Roy, Nayami Boro (one bronze each) were the medal winners for the State team while Nijum got the best player award. Bipul Das (4th dan), Haren Pathak (Dhruba Sarma, Manoj Sarma (3rd dan) Dharmendra Das (2nd dan), Sashi Mohan Roy (1st dan) were provided black belts in the championship, stated a release of Japan Karate Do Kuniba Kai India Honbu Assam Branch.
