DERGAON, Jan 11 - Last years runners-up Kamrup secured their title in the RG Baruah AASU Gold Cup Football Tournament.

In a keenly contested summit clash at the Bokakhat stadium today, Kamrup edged past Kokrajhar 1-0.

The match winning goal was scored by Dhiraj Rajbongshi in the 12th minute before a huge gathering.

Kokrajhar was more dominant and created several scoring opportunities through out the match. But their striking force was not accurate enough to hit the back of the net.

The final match was inaugurated by leading footballer Durga Boro. Rana Dutta and Dhiraj Rajbongshi, both of Kamrup, were adjudged best goal keeper and highest scorer of the tournament respectively. Dhiraj netted seven goals in four matches.

On the other hand the best player award went to Ajanto Rava of Kamrup while Nalbari was selected for the fair play trophy.

To mark the occasion a souvenir-Krira Darpan was released by manager (HR) of NRL Goda Deka. The final match was conducted by referee Gipunath Gogoi and was assisted by Ranju Dutta, Ranjit Bora and Champak Deka.
