TINSUKIA, March 9 - Kamrup entered the final of the 9th Veterans Inter District and Inter Institutional T-20 Cricket Tournament.
In the first semifinal played at the Katchujan Field here today, Kamrup outplayed Sivasagar by nine wickets.
Opting to bat first, Sivasagar could only manage to gather 79 runs losing 9 wickets in 15 overs. In reply, Kamrup surpassed the target in 12.1 overs losing only one wicket. Tauhid Ali Talukdar of Kamrup was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his all round show.
In the last quarterfinal of the tournament, Dibrugarh defeated Guwahati by 5 runs. After being sent to bat first, Dibrugarh piled up 122 runs losing 8 wickets in the allotted 15 overs. In reply, Guwahati were restricted to 117 runs for 7 in 15 overs. Soumen Deb of Dibrugarh was awarded the Man-of-the-Match trophy.
