Kamrup DC orders punctuality in hospitals

By CORRESPONDENT

JALUKBARI, June 9 - Kamrup Deputy Commissioner Vinod Seshan has appealed to doctors, general nursing and midwifery (GNM), auxiliary nurse midwifery (ANM) and all other medical and paramedical staff posted in various hospitals, primary health centres and subsidiary health centres to attend their duties on time on all working days.

In the meantime, Seshan has asked the circle officers to inspect the hospitals on all working days and ensure regular and timely attendance of doctors and nurses. He also asked the circle officers to see to it that the patients get proper care and facilities.

ADC Hemashree Hazarika has been given charge to coordinate the whole process to facilitate proper treatment of the patients.

Seshan expressed disappointment over the decreasing institutional deliveries in the district in 2015-16 compared to 2014-15. He said strict punitive action would be taken against those who do not maintain punctuality and sincerity at government health institutions.

He urged all government hospital staff right from the medical officers to ASHA workers to be prompt and active in increasing institutional delivery in all health institutions of the district where delivery is conducted. Unnecessary referrals to GMCH and MMCH will be under strict surveillance and action will be taken against guilty persons.

Meanwhile, it has been learnt that two-months salary of all staff of Bamunigaon Model Hospital and Rampur BPHC has been withheld due to negligence of duty. DC Seshan himself pays sudden visits to various health units in Kamrup district.
