GUWAHATI, July 24 - A team of officials, led by Kamrup Metro Additional DC F Ahmed, visited the Sonapur Tea Estate near here on Wednesday and inspected the facilities provided for the welfare of the workers.
The team looked into the implementation of various labour laws and social welfare measures by the tea estate and inspected facilities like drinking water, electricity, hygiene, cleanliness and toilets at the quarters of the workers.
An awareness meeting was also held for the workers on the issue of maintaining cleanliness in the tea garden.
Officials from various departments including labour, public health and family welfare were part of the team that visited the tea estate.
