GUWAHATI, Aug 2 - The Editor of The Little Magazine Antara Dev Sen will deliver the 8th Kamala Saikia Memorial Lecture here on August 9, a press release stated.

The memorial lecture, organised by the Journalist Kamala Saikia Memorial Trust in association with the Guwahati Press Club, and coinciding with the 28th death anniversary of Saikia, will be held at 4 pm at the auditorium of Vivekananda Kendra at Uzan Bazar

Sen had also served as a Senior Editor of The Hindustan Times and Senior Assistant Editor of The Indian Express.

Saikia is the first martyr journalist of Assam, who was assassinated by militants on August 9, 1991. He was also a freedom fighter and a prominent social worker, who was known for his love for Assam.

At the same function, Editor and publisher of Prantik Pradip Baruah will be felicitated by the trust for his exceptional contribution to the media and social life of Assam.
