GUWAHATI, Jan 29 � It was a double crown for Kalyan Das as he bagged the senior doubles (above-35) and the above-55 titles pairing with Rajib Bora and Dipak Das in the India Club Open Tennis Championship here today. In the above-35 category, the pair of Kalyan and Rajib beat Rajiv Dutta/Nabarun Saikia 7-5 6-3 and in above-55, Kalyan/Dipak beat Sankar Dutta Lahkar/ S Rajkhowa 8-5.
Meanwhile, Raunak Bora bagged the boys U-14 title defeating Ankeet Kashyap 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 in the 14th India Club Open Tennis Championship. Raunak could not make a double, as he was beaten in the boys U-18 category by Sahidul Islam 6-1, 6-4.
Trophies, scholarship money and gifts were presented to the winners by Amal Dutta Lahkar, club president, Raju Goenka, MD of Industrial & Farm Equipments, Manish Agarwal, director of SM Autokrafts, Simanta Sarma, gm of Dainik Janambhumi, Charu Bhagawati, donor of late Birendra Nath Bhagawati Memeorial Trophy, Rinku Sahu, donor of late Archana Sahu Memorial Trophy and Ramesh Verma of Verma Sports.
