Kalpurush predicts bad days for State

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, March 4 - The 36th edition of Assamese almanac Kalpurush Purnanga Panjika has predicted that public life in Assam will be affected due to natural calamities, major accidents, ethnic clashes and floods in the Assamese new year.

The almanac that has a significant number of followers in the State, comes up with a detailed analysis of the movements and positions of celestial objects every year to predict the significant events for the State along with a general analysis of astrological signs. The panjika is published by Ranjit Kumar Saikia.

According to the almanac, some persons friendly to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will help his enemies in their evil efforts to harm him, which will bring disrepute to his Cabinet and result in public protest.

The panjika however, predicts the rise of a woman leader as a significant event in the States politics this year.

On the political side, it predicts victory for the BJP in the coming Lok Sabha elections, but at the same time, says that both Congress and a regional political party will move towards winning the confidence of the common people in the State.

Despite adopting a zero tolerance towards corruption, the State government will have to deal with high-level corruption in the irrigation, tourism, public relations and public works departments. The demand for a separate Bodoland will leave the government in an awkward situation. Activities of the banned outfits will also give a tough time to both the government and the people of Assam, as per the predictions.

Problems due to border disputes with Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland are also on the cards.

On the brighter side, the planetary positions show that despite all adversities, good administrative skill of the government will bail it out of difficult situations. Under the influence of Sun and Mercury, the States administrative system, health, science-related research, animal husbandry, trade, education, mines and minerals, forest resources, legal side and transport facilities will witness a burgeoning growth.

People of the State will be dissatisfied due to NRC-related developments. Moreover, the Kamatapur movement and separate Bodoland movement will force the government to go on the backfoot.

The almanac also predicts the rise of a new regional force in Assam and formation of a new political party in Barak Valley. The predictions include a very positive and laudable role by the media as the watchdog of democracy.
