PATACHARKUCHI, Jan 29 � Preparations are complete for holding the 11th biennial session of the Kalita Janagosthi Sanmilan at Pathsala under the aegis of the Bajali district committee of the organisation. The two-day session will be held on January 30 and 31.

On the opening day, the organisation�s flag will be hoisted by its president Dr Bhabendra Nath Kalita at 8:30 am, while Bipin Patgiri, advisor of the Bajali Zila Samiti will perform the smriti tarpan. A plantation programme will soon follow, with Annada Khataniar, director of the NGO, Green Mission Bajali initiating the process. The Kameswar Kalita memorial stage and the Chandi Charan Kalita memorial gate will be declared open by Tilak Chandra Talukdar, advocate and Nripen Kalita, secretary of the Bajali Pragati Sangha respectively.

A symposium on the topic �Asomor Khilanjia Janagosthi Samuhar Parichay Sankat � Bishay Aru Pratyahban� will be held on the day and it will be conducted by Dr Ramesh Pathak, educationist, while the programme will be anchored by Dr Soneswar Kalita, executive president of the Bajali Zila Samiti of the Kalita Janagosthi Sanmilan. A number of dignitaries and experts will take part in the symposium. A delegate meet will be held at 4 pm which will be followed by an illumination programme and a cultural evening.

On the concluding day, a cultural procession will be taken out that will be flagged off by Ratan Lahkar, producer of Kohinoor Theatre. An open meeting will be held at 12:30 pm where a souvenir will be released by Dr Akkshay Kalita. The open meeting will be attended by Bhubaneswar Kalita, MP and Nilamani Sen Deka, Agricultural Minister as chief guests, while Dr Bhaben Kalita, former principal of Cotton College and Ramani Saharia, former principal of Mangaldai College will attend the session as appointed speakers.
