Kalita, Daimary take oath as RS members

NEW DELHI, July 22 - Bhubaneswar Kalita (BJP) and Biswajeet Daimary (BPF) on Wednesday took oath as members of the Rajya Sabha. Ajit Bhuyan, who was the third newly elected member of Rajya Sabha, however, did not take oath today.

Later talking to newsmen, Kalita said at a time when Assam is facing the twin crisis of COVID-19 and floods, it is the duty and responsibility of MPs like him to help the people of Assam and ensure their allround well-being.

�I have always raised the issue of flood in the Parliament. The flood problem of Assam is different from rest of the country,� he said.

Talking to newsmen, a third-term MP, Daimary, who took the oath in Bodo language, when asked whether he is likely to be inducted in the Narendra Modi Government, said if the State BJP desires then the central leadership of the party may include him in the council of ministers.
