DIPHU, Sept 2 - Journalists of Karbi Anglong under the banner of Karbi Anglong Journalist Union (KAJU) staged a demonstration in front of the Deputy Commissioner Office, here on Saturday, in protest against the attack on freedom of press in the country.
The members of the KAJU later submitted memoranda to the Prime Minister and Chief Minister urging them to halt attack on press freedom.
The scribes also expressed serious concern over the growing attacks on press freedom.
They appealed to the government to take urgent steps in this regard.
The demonstration was led by KAJU, president, Joysing Tokbi and office secretary Dipankar Das.
