Kabir Hans clinches double crown in ITF jr meet

GUWAHATI, Nov 22 - Kabir Hans of India lifted double crown in the ITF World Junior Ranking Tennis Championship which concluded today at the All Assam Tennis Association Complex, Chachal here today.

Kabir own both boys U-18 singles and doubles titles. In the singles final Kabir defeated Karan Singh (IND) in straight sets 6-0, 6-1while in doubles partnering with Dhruv Tangri (IND) he downed Sushant Dabas (IND) and Denim Yadav (IND) duo 7-5, 0-6,(10-6).

In the well contested girls singles final 3rd�seed Sanjana Srimalla of India emerged champion defeating 5th�seed Reshma Maruari (IND) 5-7, 6-2, 6-4. In a brief prize distribution ceremony Australian tennis coach Tod Clarke distributed the trophies in presence of Tournament Director Ankush Dutta and other officials.

Final results: (Boys U-18) Top seed Kabir Hans (IND) bt Karan Singh (IND) 6-0, 6-1; (Girls U-18) 3rd�seed Sanjana Srimalla (IND) bt 5th�seed Reshma Maruari (IND) 5-7, 6-2, 6-4; (Boys U-18 doubles) Kabir Hans (IND)/Dhruv Tangri (IND) bt Sushant Dabas (IND)/Denim Yadav (IND) 7-5, 0-6,(10-6); (Girls U-18 doubles) Reshma Maruari (IND)/Suhita Maruari (IND) bt Sarah Dev (IND)/Malikaa Marathe (IND) 6-1, 6-0.
