KAAC foundation day today

DIPHU, June 22 � The 64th Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) foundation day will be celebrated on Tuesday at Diphu Government Boys� Higher Secondary School premises.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, will attend the function as the chief guest. On the other hand, Kharsing Engti, HAD Minister, Sarat Borkatoky, Minister for Education department, Health Minister, Dr Nazrul Islam will attend as guests of honour.

Besides, Member of Parliament of Diphu constituency, Biren Sing Engti will grace the occasion as special guest and Debojit Thaosen, CEM, NC Hills Autonomous Council will attend as special invited guest. Local MLA, Bidya Sing Engleng, Dr Mansing Rongpi, Parliamentary Secretaries Klengdon Engti, MLA, Bokajan and EMs of KAAC will attend as invited guests on the occasion.

The open session will be presided by Dhonsing Kro, chairman, KAAC. According to scheduled programme at 7am garlands to be offered on the statue of Semson Sing Ingti and Khorsing Terang at Semson Sing Ingti Memorial Park near Members� Hostel, Council Lake and Khorsing Terang Memorial Park, Council Colony and near KASA stadium playground at 8 am. The national flag will be hoisted at the KAAC secretariat complex by Dhansing Kro, chairman, KAAC at 9 am. The newly constructed Girls� Hostel NEC situated at Diphu Government College will be inaugurated by Sarat Borkatoky, Minister for Education. Hereafter, the newly constructed GNM School, Diphu will officially inaugurated by Tarun Gogoi, Chief Minister, and will be accompanied by Dr Nazrul Islam, Minister for Health department at 10.30 am.

In the evening at 6 pm, candles will be lighted at the KAAC buildings, Session Hall. Semson Sing Ingti, Khorsing Terang Memorial Park (Old & New) and Rongpharpi Rongbe statue respectively at 6 pm. Cultural nite and Rangsina Sarpo award ceremony will be held jointly by Art & Culture and Cultural Affairs Department, KAAC.
