DIPHU, Feb 17 � Ending all speculations, the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Chief Executive member (CEM), Joyram Engleng on Wednesday allocated portfolios to the executive members of his newly formed 11th executive KAAC body and kept with himself key departments like Finance, Personnel (Council & Transferred), GAD, all Centrally sponsored schemes/projects and any other subjects/departments not allocated to any other EMs.
It may be mentioned here that few senior EMs received portfolios that they held in the previous KAAC body, while the new entrants to the new executive body also got important portfolios.
Senior EM, Jiban Chandra Pathak has been given portfolios like Water, Town & Planning, while former Information & Public relation and Fishery, EM, D Uphing Maslai has been given portfolios of DRDA, P&RD. Bhuban Chandra Terang has been given the portfolio of Forest & Environment, Tourism, while Premala Beypi, wife of State HAD Minister Kharsing Engti has retained the Social Welfare and ICDS portfolio. Bidya Sing Rongpi will look after PHE, Art & Culture. While Mongal Sing Timung retained his earlier Agriculture portfolio. Lonki Timung retained portfolio of Soil Conservation and Co-operation. Former Education EM, Raton Engti has been given the PWD portfolio this time.
Meanwhile, new entrants to the executive body for the first time comprise Elice Engtipi, sister of Minister Kharsing Engti, who got the portfolios of Handloom & Textile, Sericulture Departments while Ashok Teron has been given the portfolio of Health & Family Welfare. Tuliram Ronghang has retained the key portfolio of Education while Pradip Difusa has been allocated Animal Husbandry & Veterinary and Library portfolios.
