Jyotirupa one-act drama contest from Jan 27-31

GUWAHATI, Oct 10 - The annual meeting of socio-cultural organisation �Jyotirupa� was held on October 3. The meeting decided that the 37th one-act play competition will be organised from January 27 to 31, while the Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah Drama Festival will be held from February 24 to 28.

The meeting also decided that a cultural programme featuring singer Sudakshina Sarma will be organised this year.

A drama group from outside the State will perform in the festival, a press release stated. For taking part in the one-act competition, interested participants are asked to deposit a joining fee of Rs 300 along with their address, telephone number and manuscript. No children�s play will be considered for the competition.

During the meeting, Prafulla Govinda Baruah and Naren Hazarika were unanimously elected as the president and the secretary of the new committee respectively.

A minute�s silence was observed in memory of the vice-president of the organization, Gunin Rajkhowa, who passed away recently.
