GUWAHATI, May 25: Junior colleges excelled in the higher secondary examination results declared by Assam Higher Secondary Education Council today.
In the Arts stream, the pass percentage is 75.14. A total of 1,78,998 students had appeared in the arts stream of which 1,34,496 passed.
In Commerce, of the total 17,797 candidates, 15,589 passed, registering a pass percentage of 87.59.
In Science, 31,577 of 36,469 candidates cleared the exam, registering a pass percentage of 86.59.
With 478 out of 500 marks, Khushboo Firdous of Brilliant Academy Junior College, Darrang topped the exams in arts stream.
Securing 478 marks, Sayan Mazumdar of Darrang College and Bitupan Arandhara of Nagaon�s Ramanujan Junior College topped the science section.
Ashim Sarkar of Vivekananda Junior College, Cachar topped the commerce stream results with 474 marks.
