Judicial court inaugurated at Diphu

DIPHU, Aug 22 - Ending all speculations, the judicial court of Karbi Anglong was formally inaugurated by the Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, Ajit Singh here in the presence of Justice Hrishikesh Roy and other judicial officers recently.

Among the distinguished personalities present in the inaugural function were Justice Amuriddin Ali, Nishanta Goswami, Justice A Dey and Rita Konwar, CJM of Nagaon court. Adil Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Karbi Anglong who was the last non-judicial officer functioning as District Session Judge of Karbi Anglong in his inaugural speech mentioned that he is happily passing the baton to the present Chief Judicial Magistrate in order to establish the true democratic form of governance in this part of the nation.

All together three judges have been appointed right now. However, both Chief Justice Ajit Singh and Hrishikesh Roy assured during their speech that the authority is mooting the possibility of appointing an Additional Session Judge to expedite the process of clearing the large backlog of pending cases. The Chief Justice in his speech mentioned that soon a judicial court will be established in West Karbi Anglong also.
