Journalist Biswajit Roy Barman passes away

SILCHAR, Oct 25 - Noted journalist of the region Biswajit Roy Barman breathed his last at the Silchar Medical College and Hospital at around 7 am on Friday. He was 47. Biswajit was admitted to the ICU following brain haemorrahage.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son.

His death has cast a pall of gloom in the media fraternity of both Barak and Brahmaputra valleys since Biswajit had been working for over a long period of time across the valleys for Dainik Jugasanka. His colleagues and reporters from other media houses and people from the socio-cultural field mourned the untimely demise.

Tributes were paid at various places including his Silchar office, Press Club and other locations before he was cremated in the evening.
