Jorhat girl tests positive

JORHAT, May 23 - A 15-year girl of Jorhat, who along with her parents returned from Barauni (Bihar), tested positive for COVID-19 as results of the tests done at JMCH came out on Saturday.

Jorhat Deputy Commissioner Roshni A Korati informed that Kiran Pachyav of Lichubari outskirts here, who along with her parents reached here on May 19 morning by train, tested positive for COVID-19 pandemic.

The mother and daughter were kept under quarantine in a hotel, Korati stated.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the girl was shifted to JMCH along with her mother, whose test result was still awaited. Korati said that the family went to Patna for treatment of Kiran�s mother.

It may be mentioned here that the total number of positive people detected in Jorhat till date is 11.

Meanwhile, since May 6 till Saturday, altogether 3,325 persons have arrived from outside the State, including the 11 positive, after getting screened at the zonal screening centre of Jorhat on the outskirts of Kakodunga here, the Jorhat Deputy Commissioner informed.
