TURA, April 9 - Late Jonathone N Sangma�s wife, Krenilla R Marak, filed her nomination from Williamnagar Assembly seat on NCP ticket today. beginning what is expected to be an engrossing contest between 9 contestants from the assembly segment.
Polls to Williamnagar seat were postponed following the murder of Jonathone N Sangma by suspected militants of Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) through an IED blast that also took the lives of four of his supporters. Williamnagar will go to bypolls on April 27 with counting to be held on May 1.
A total of nine contestants are vying for the seat which includes two former MLAs, Deborah Marak of Congress and Marcuise Marak of NPP.
