Jojneswar Sharma new DGDE

GUWAHATI, Oct 4 - Jojneswar Sharma, an officer of Indian Defence Estates Service, 1982 batch, assumed charge of Director General of Defence Estates (DGDE), Ministry of Defence on October 1, 2016, in the rank of a Secretary to the Government of India. Sharma is the first officer from the north-eastern Region to hold this prestigious post, a press release stated.

Jojneswar Sharma joined the Indian Defence Estates Service in August, 1983. Before taking over the charge of the post of the Director General on 01.10.2016, he worked as Principal Director, Defence Estates, at Pune since 2013. He has also served earlier as Addl Director General in the DGDE HQrs and as Director at Principal Directorate Defence Estates, Lucknow.
