Joint Army-Police action recover two vehicles

GUWAHATI, Jan 3 - In a timely action, the Indian Army came to the rescue of a Arunachal Pradesh Police Tata Sumo vehicle, which had skidded off the road into a 120 feet deep gorge, the Army said in a press release.

The incident took place on a hair-pin bend, about 60 km from Bame on Bararupak road on December 28 last, when the driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to save a tourist vehicle coming from the opposite side.

Luckily the driver of the Tata Sumo escaped without any serious injuries.

When informed about the incident, a team of Army�s EME Bn sprang into action and dispatched two heavy recovery vehicles to help recover the vehicle. The joint recovery effort of Army and police safely recovered the vehicle after toiling for two days.

In another incident, the EME Bn rescued a Toyota vehicle which fell into a 30 metre ditch. The vehicle was moving from Migging towards Mosing. On being informed, the EME Bn personnel recovered the vehicle.
