TINSUKIA, Feb 5 - Tinsukia emerged winners in Group D of the U-19 Inter District Cricket Championship for the JK Baruah Trophy, organised by the Tinsukia District Sports Association (TDSA) under the aegis of Assam Cricket Association (ACA).
At the Katchujan field here today, the host team defeated Golaghat by virtue of their first innings lead as the two-day match ended in a draw.
Resuming their first innings at an overnight total of 54 for 3, Golaghat were all out for 150. Tinsukia scored 200 in the first innings. After taking a 50-run first innings lead, in the second innings Tinsukia declared at 197 for 6. Chasing a tough target of 248 in the second innings, Golaghat were 115 for four when at stumps.
With this victory Tinsukia qualified for the inter zonal stage of the championship.
