By Staff reporter

GUWAHATI, May 30 Confusion prevailed at the Lok Priya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport after body of Partha Pratim Deka (21) which was supposed to be airlifted by a Jet Airways flight from Chennai via New Delhi did not reach the Guwahati airport.

The flight carrying the body of Partha Pratim who died in a road mishap on Friday was scheduled to reach the Guwahati airport around 4 this afternoon. Madan Deka, the father of the deceased was also on the same flight along with an Ayurvedic physician.

Partha was a final year student of Computer Science and hailed from Motghoria area.

Unable to take custody of the body at Guwahati, we reported the matter to the Jet Airways authorities, who then informed that the coffin was off-loaded at Delhi due to some technical reasons, informed Deepak Deka, a family member of the deceased while talking to this reporter.

Family members of the deceased terming the incident as an act of 'sheer negligence' argued that the authorities should have informed them about the technical problem before off-loading the body.

It is sheer negligence on the part of the Jet Airways authorities and there should be an enquiry into it and the responsible person should be made accountable for causing undue harassment, Deka stated.

The Jet Airways authorities are said to have assured the family members that the body would be brought to Guwahati tomorrow morning.

A police team also rushed to the spot and an FIR has been lodged with the local police station.
