IMPHAL, July 24 - Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) which has been spearheading the pro-ILP movement in Manipur, today said it has three demands from the State Government.

One of the demands is the government should take steps that would create confidence among the public that a Bill to protect indigenous people would be passed in the Assembly by August 15, the JCILPS said in a release.

Another demand is the State Government should assure the people that the Bill to be presented in the Assembly would cover the points already submitted to the State Government to protect the indigenous people of Manipur.

The third demand is suspension of policemen involved in the death of student Sapam Robinhood and a judicial inquiry into the incident.

The JCILPS, at a public meeting here, also decided to continue its agitation till the Bill is passed in the Assembly, the release said. PTI
