NAGAON, Sept 16 � In last quarterfinal of the ID Cup today, JCB Villai Brothers defeated ASEB 7-6 in tie breaker to enter the semifinals. During regulation time, the scoreline read 3-3.
Sanjit Subba scored the first goal for Villai in the 25 minute. Impo netted another goal for Villai in the 66 minute to make the score 2-0.
For ASEB, Sanjeeva Rongpi netted two goals in the 68th and 81st minutes to level the issue. Jilendra Brahma scored another goal for ASEB through a penalty kick in the 91st minutes.
However, ASEB conceded a self goal in the 75 minute.
In the tie-breaker, Daniel, Reobal Jumalpurah, M Siddique and I Jhon Juseph netted the ball for Villai but Impo failed to score.
For ASEB, Sanjeeva , Jilendra Brahma and Hemanta Kr Brahma scored but Divendra Patra and Mani Kanta Brahma failed to score. Villai entered the semifinal and will meet Assam Rifles on Saturday.
