IMPHAL, May 11 - A JCB driver was freed by suspected militants after he remained in captivity for eight days.

On Wednesday, Kh Tontonba Singh told media persons that he was freed near Churachandpur town yesterday around 11 am. He alleged that he was abducted over a monetary demand.

Tontonba claimed that the armed kidnappers wanted money from the contractor who engaged him for PMGSY work at Luigam village in Churachandpur district.

A group of about five armed persons kidnapped him from a work shed at Luigam on May 3 midnight.
