GUWAHATI, July 29 - In view of the various allegations levelled against the governing body of the JB Law College, Guwahati, and the subsequent government decision to constitute a high-level committee to enquire into the matter, the State Director of Higher Education has placed the present governing body of the college under suspension with immediate effect.
In an order issued today, the Director of Higher Education stated that during the period of suspension of the governing body, Dr Hemanta Kumar Sharma, Professor of Department of Mathematics of the Gauhati University, will remain as the administrator.
The decision has been taken under the Non-government College Management Rules 2001. The government has also received complaint in this regard from the Principal of the college.
�This order is issued in public interest and for a free and fair enquiry into the allegations raised against the governing body,� the order mentioned.
