GUWAHATI, April 5 - Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) felicitated Padma Shri recipient and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award winner Nrityacharya Jatin Goswami at a function held here recently.
NRL Managing Director SK Barua conferred a citation, a memento and Rs 1 lakh in cash to the cultural doyen, who has dedicated his life to Sattriya dance and brought it to its present state of glory in the national and global stage, a press release said today.
Goswami expressed his gratitude to NRL for honouring him and the dance form which has been a manifestation of Assamese culture for centuries.
NRL in the past has honoured eminent personalities of the State in the field of art, literature and culture, including icons like Late Dr Bhupen Hazarika, Late Rameshwar Pathak, Dr Birendra Nath Dutta, Dipali Borthakur and Neelpawan Barua.
