DIBRUGARH, April 30 - The 7th Jananeta Ramesh Chandra Barooah Quiz was held on April 27 at the DHS Kanoi College campus here.

The event was contested by 26 teams. The quiz was open to students studying between Higher Secondary and Degree classes, and the quiz master was Anupam Bhuyan.

The first prize was awarded to Mridupawan Borah and Kalyan Sengupta from Dibrugarh University. The first prize carries a cash component of Rs 10,000. The second prize, with a cash component of Rs 6,000, was awarded to Seuj Dohotia and Chandrapal Saikia, also from Dibrugarh University. The third prize was awarded to the duo of Prabal Kalita and Bronson Sarmah of Moran College. The third prize includes Rs 4,000 in cash.

Earlier, the contestants and guests were welcomed by the Ramesh Chandra Barooah Smriti Rakhya Committee president Bhudev Phukan. The prizes were given away by Indira Barooah and Rumjhum Barooah. Before the quizzing rounds began, the ceremonial lamp was lit by Ila Dowerah.
