Jamuna, Geeta feted

GUWAHATI, June 2 � Jamuna Boro, the bronze medal winner in the AIBA Youth and Junior World Boxing Championship at Taipei, was felicitated today by the Assam Amateur Boxing Association (AABA). The felicitation function was attended by SAI city centre director in-charge Subash Basumatary and AABA president Kali Kanta Boro, stated a press release.

Ani Lama and Lovdiana Borgohain were the other Assam boxers who represented the Indian team in the championship. Geeta Chanu was the coach of the team.

Meanwhile, Jamuna said that she is hopeful of winning the gold medal in the next Commonwealth Games. She added that in the semifinals, she had a injury on her right shoulder due to which she went down against the Ukrainian opponent.
