BISWANATH CHARIALI, Jan 5 - The Jamuguri Police Station under Biswanath Police District has been brought under the jurisdiction of the Superintendent of Police of Sonitpur district. The Department of Home (A), Government of Assam has notified it vide order number HMA -303/2018/17 dated 16th December, 2019.
Accordingly, the Directorate of Assam Police has instructed the concerned Superintendents of Police of Biswanath and Sonitpur districts, respectively, to take necessary action in this regard through letter no W/X/26/2014/113 dated 19th December, 2019.
It needs mention here that the Jamuguri Police Station was brought under Biswanath police district when it was created in 2014, but later the areas falling under the Jamuguri Police Station remained with Sonitpur district when the new Biswanath revenue district was formed resulting in much inconvenience for the common public.
