GUWAHATI, Feb 27 � People at Jambari near Boko in Kamrup district continued with their protest against a liquor-manufacturing unit in the area today even as police forwarded to court the five persons arrested in connection with a violent mob protest yesterday.

Kamrup SP Indrani Baruah told The Assam Tribune that no untoward incident took place in the area today and that the protest today was directed to securing the release of the arrested persons.

The protesters had burnt down a police outpost yesterday and torched a few vehicles.
