GUWAHATI, Jan 24 � Like in previous years, this year also the people of Jalkhana-Bhathuwakana and its adjoining areas in Tihu will celebrate the Jalkhana-Bhathuwakhana Milon Sabha Mahotsov on the Shri Shri Bihnu Mandir premises under the aegis of Jalkhana-Bhathuwakhana Gramonnayan Samittee with a five-day-long colourful programme from January 27, a press release stated.
The first day�s programme will begin with the unfurling of the flag by Kanteswar Kalita, president, Gramonnayan Samittee. Banti prajalan programme will be conducted by Chakrapani Medhi which will be followed by the garlanding programme by Priyanath Deka and Promod Haloi. Dilip Bhagwati, headmaster, Jalkhona-Bhattuwakhana High School and Dr Bhutnath Kalita, physician, Jalkhana-Primary Health Centre, will conduct the plantation programme.
The sabha mahotsav will be inaugurated by Monoranjan Das at 6.30 am. Pami Brahma, circle officer, Tihu and Dhaneswar Kalita, prominent social worker of Guwahati will attend the inauguration and felicitation meeting under the chairmanship of Kanteswar Kalita. Besides, a large number of programmes like Gosai sthapan, Bhagawat path, natyovinoy, dhulia, naam prasanga etc will be held. Moreover, Bordoichila Theatre will also stage their plays on January 27, 28 and 29.
The secretary of the Gramonnayan Samittee Charan Kalita has requested the people of Jalkhana-Bhathuwa khana area to participate in the mahotsov with zeal and gaiety in order to make it a grand success.
