Jailed ULFA leaders hopeful of release

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Oct 21 Lack of co-ordination among the agencies concerned has led to minor snags in matters of release of the jailed ULFA leaders and the jailed leaders of the outfit are hopeful that the process of their release would continue until they could sit down to talk in a free atmosphere.

This was the opinion expressed by the jailed ULFA leaders when Sanmilita Jatiya Abhibartan (SJA) chief spokesman Dr Hiren Gohain met the jailed leaders of the outfit in the Central Jail here today.

The jailed leaders of the outfit assured Dr Gohain that the process of their release was unhindered, and only the lack of co-ordination among the agencies concerned has led to some minor snags in this regard.

Dr Gohain went to the Central Jail to know as to what the real situation is behind the confusing reports about granting or not granting bails to the jailed leaders, said Dr Gohain.

He had a brief meeting with the jailed leaders of the outfit. Prior to his meeting with these leaders of the outfit, Central Governments interlocutor PC Haldar had met them this morning. Haldar had assured them of the Governments good will, said Dr Gohain.
