GUWAHATI, June 28 - Jahnabi Kashyap clinched gold in the 50m freestyle event on the opening day of the 34th Sub Junior National Aquatic Championship at Pune today. She also bagged a silver medal in the 50m backstroke.
Among other Assam swimmers, Basit Ahmed won a silver in the 50m freestyle while Rehan Mirza secured a bronze in 50m breaststroke.
On the other hand in Group IV, the Assam girls team clinched a silver in 4x50m freestyle relay. In girls Group III, Assam had to be content with a bronze in the 4x50m relay. In Group IV, the Assam boys team won the silver medal in 4x50m freestyle relay.
