JAGIROAD, May 3 - Jagiroad Town Club (JTC) emerged champions in the third Renu Saikia, Chitra Borthakur and Khagen Baishya memorial Jagiroad Inter Club Cricket League Tournament defeating Jagiroad Cricket Club (JCC) by five wickets.

In the final played today at the Jagiroad Sports Association ground here, being asked to bat first, JCC scored 93 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs as Jayanta Bora was the chief contributor with 32 runs. Jayanta Dutta grabbed four wickets for JTC.

In reply, JTC took 18.3 overs to reach the target losing five wickets. Jitu Medhi and Jayanta Dutta were the leading contributors with 27 and 21 runs respectively while Prakash Shah took two wickets for JCC.

Asish Prasad of JCC received the man-of-the-series award for his all round show while Jayanta Dutta of JTC was adjudged man- of-the-match. Jayanta Bora of JCC and Rinku Ahmed of Khelimeli CC won the best batsman and best bowler awards respectively.

Khagen Gogoi, H Kalita, H Rahman and Sankar Bayan gave away the trophies in the closing function. Altogether 12 teams took part in the championship which was organised by the Jagiroad Sports Association.
