JAGIROAD, March 7 - Jagiroad Satriya Sangeet Vidyalaya, on the occasion of its silver jubilee year celebration, organised a alumni meet at the vidyalaya premises here recently with a day- long programme. The institution�s president Abanti Deka hoisted the school flag which was followed by smriti tarpan offered by the vidyalaya principal Dr Khagen Sarma. Noted social worker of the area Dilip Kr Mazumdar presided over the programme in which Morigaon District Development Commissioner Dipa Das, Sudhir Borthakur, Haramohan Kalita, among others, spoke on various aspects. Over 300 alumni attended from various parts of the district.
A cultural function was also held where some satriya forms, namely �sali nritya�, �jhumur nritya�, �labani chori�, �mati akhara�, borgeet etc., were performed by the vidyalaya students including the alumni. Joint secretary, silver jubilee celebration committee Abanti Bora conducted the day-long function.
