JAGIROAD, Nov 9 - The 39th Naat Samarooh of Jagiroad Natya Gosthi, a premiere cultural organisation of middle Assam concluded on November 8 at the premises of Baruwari puja mandap here in presence of a large gathering.
The three-day-long cultural event began with the inauguration of the Naat Samarooh by senior journalist Dilip Chandan. A seminar on �Assam Natya Dol, Movement and Problems� was organised to mark the celebrations in which noted litterateur Kumud Baruah, Dr Habibur Rahman, Associate professor of Jagiroad College and Dr Nishigandha Talukdar, Associate professor of Dimoria College spoke on various aspects on the topic.
A felicitation programme was also organised in which 11 cultural activists of middle Assam namely, Sanjib Mahanta, Boluram Doloi, Bimal Sarma, Manuj Mahanta, Rabin Chakraborty, Jitendra Kumar Deka, Chinmoy Borthakur, Arnacharan Deka, Ananda Deka, Ratul Bhuyan and Marameerani Bora were felicitated by the Jagiroad Natya Gosthi.
On the second day evening, the members of the Jagiroad Natya Gosthi staged a drama named Bonde Mataram, written and directed by the noted dramatist, cultural activist Tarun Talukdar, who is also the founder of Jagiroad Natya Gosthi.
In the penultimate day evening, a drama Sor-ubach, written and directed by Dr Sitanath Lahkar was staged by Samahar Natya Gosthi, Guwahati.
Earlier, Dibyajit Neog, Chairman, Jagiroad Development Authority lit an earthen lamp on the occasion while social worker of the area Prabin Kumar Deka inaugurated the drama.
