Jagiroad Lions Club holds free health check-up camp

JAGIROAD, Oct 22 - The Lions Club of Jagiroad and Lions Club of Anmol Guwahati in association with Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya of Guwahati organised a free health check-up camp on eye and dental ailments at Nizarapar here on Sunday.

Altogether, 273 eye patients and 65 dental patients were rendered medical assistance and checked up at the day-long camp. A seven-member group of doctors and staff from Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya of Guwahati led by Dr S Burhagohain examined the poor and needy patients.

Patients from various regions under Jagiroad Police Station, including some villages under Mayong Circle attended the free health check-up camp.

When contacted, the president of Lions Club of Jagiroad Atanu Prasad Borah told this Correspondent that the attending doctors detected 73 cataract patients in the camp who will be operated upon in a phase-wise manner on November 1, 23 and 29 respectively at the Sankaradeva Nethralaya in Guwahati free of cost.
