Jagiroad College community felicitates Piyush

JAGIROAD, June 23 - The Jagiroad College community on Tuesday accorded a warm felicitation to the newly-elected MLA of Jagiroad constituency, Piyush Hazarika.

The felicitation function organised at the college auditorium was also graced by a host of representatives from the local public, college GB and the alumni association. The meeting chaired by the college principal, Dr BC Neog was addressed by Munin Borthakur, Prabin Deka, Ranjib Sharma, Nayanmoni Baruah, among others.

All the speakers reposed faith on the newly-elected MLA in respect of solving several public issues. They also urged him to support the Jagiroad College, the only institution of higher learning of the area in all respects so that it could emerge as a centre of excellence during his tenure as the local representative.

Reciprocating the feelings of the people, Hazarika in his brief speech, expressed his gratefulness to the people of the constituency for reposing faith on him. He also urged one and all to work towards the further growth of Jagiroad College. He assured all necessary help and support to the college for its all-round development. He called upon the staff of the college to devote all their time and energy towards acceleration of such a growth.

The local MLA was also offered felicitation by the Jagiroad College Teachers� Unit, College Students� body, Alumni Association, besides others. In his presidential remark, Dr Neog congratulated the MLA on his victory as the representative from the constituency. He hoped, during his tenure, the college will be able to reach newer heights.

Earlier, in the morning the local MLA also participated in yoga sessions along with the students, teachers and alumni of the college, organised specially at the college to observe the International Yoga Day. He formally inaugurated the occasion by lighting the ceremonial lamp and called upon one and all to practice yoga for improving physical, mental, moral and spiritual well-being.
