Jagiroad club cricket ends

JAGIROAD, Jan 24 � Khelimeli Cricket Club emerged champions in the final of the second Renu Saikia, Chitra Deka and Khagen Baishya Memorial Jagiroad Inter Club Cricket Tournament defeating Town Club by 10 wickets. Batting first in the Jagiroad Sports Association ground here today, Town Club managed only 113 runs with the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs while Khelimeli Cricket Club easily achieved the target without losing any wicket in 13.3 overs. Rinku Ahmed (50) of Khelimeli and Papu Deka Raja (28) of Town Club were the batsmen who contributed highest for their respective teams. Rinku Ahmed and Mantu Boro of Khelimeli were selected as man of the match, best batsmen, best bowler and player of the league respectively.

In the closing function, local MLA Bibekananda Doloi who is also the president of the JSA, Working President, Ranjib Sarma and Vice President, Jitendra Kumar Deka gave away the trophies.
