ITBP opens new sector HQs at Tezpur

TEZPUR, May 26 - Krishna Chaudhary, IPS DG, ITBP inaugurated the new campus of ITBP at Rangamati (Bihaguri) which will accommodate Sector Head Quarters and 55th Battalion of ITBP recently.

The campus with a sprawling area over 89.12 acre of land will have the administrative block, jawan barracks, motor transport workshop etc., equipped with modern amenities as well. At the outset, Manoj Singh Rawat, IG, North East Frontier, ITBP welcomed all the guests. He appraised the audience about the notable achievements of ITBP units deployed in the North-east.

In his address, Krishna Chaudhary, DG ITBP said that priority will be given to acquisition of land for the units at present located in temporary camps. He also informed that ITBP is planning to make �Holiday Homes� for its personnel of the rank of constable to ASI at 12 different cities in the country where they can spend holidays with their families at reasonable costs.

Further, he added that ITBP is the first paramilitary force to get SUVs for their personnel deployed in border areas.

Ashok Kumar, DIG Sector Head Quarter, Tezpur, in his valedictory speech conveyed his gratitude to all the dignitaries for attending the inauguration ceremony. Officers from State administration, SSB, SB, SIB, Central government offices attended the function. This was stated in an ITBP release.
